So, I (Finally) Took the GRE

Today, I successfully completed the Graduate Record Exam, most commonly referred to as the GRE. The GRE is required by many institutions as an application requirement to graduate programs. While I am not sure which graduate program(s) I will pursue, I wanted to have the GRE "out of the way." Plus, my scores are acceptable for the next five years. Prayerfully, I will have divine clarity as to what my next academic steps should be within this time frame. But, I'm not rushing God.

Leading up to test day, I was anxious. I have always suffered from a degree of standardized test anxiety. I wanted to do well. I wanted to pass. I wanted to pass with flying colors! During the final week of preparation, I was simply anticipating finishing.

Well, I finished!

By God's grace, I overcame a fear. I achieved a goal. I prepared for the future.

Is anxiety stealing breath from your aspirations? Take courage in the words of Scripture:

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7
